WRSHP: Adoration
In this series of posts we discuss the format and vibe of our gathered Sunday worship at Foundation Church.
Adoration
Having heard God’s call to worship we get down to business – worshipping and enjoying God together.
There’s so much to adore and shout at the top of our lungs:
God is faithful!
God is good!
God is love!
God is always with us!
He is the God of the covenant, the Creator of the Universe, the King over all!
Here’s how the Psalmist put it:
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted;
his majesty is above earth and heaven. (Psalm 148:13)
How this works out at Foundation
And so right here at the start of our gathering, we sing songs that point our hearts and minds towards God – what he is like, what he has done, and how he interacts with his people. As a community we declare to one another and to the watching world: Great are you Lord! Praise the King! He is Our God!
Our music style is contemporary yet minimalist, allowing us to focus our thoughts distraction-free on God.
In addition to songs of adoration we intersperse bible readings that speak about God. Or sometimes we pray out prayers of praise, declaring in our own words God’s goodness and works, encouraging one another to go deeper towards God.
For some of the other songs we sing at Foundation Church check out our Spotify playlist.
Foundation Church meets every Sunday 10:30am at Belmont Tower, Belfast, BT4 3FG.
